Peter Gallway, formerly of the
Fifth Avenue Band, is the producer of most of Clegg's recordings, and has
produced and recorded CD's for Aztec Two-Step, Devonsquare, johnsmith, Louise Taylor, and many other folk and acoustic acts. He has also produced the Bleeker Street folk compilation, as well as the Laura Nyro tribute record. He has several recordings currently available from Alcazar Records.
Trinity Backstage is a once-a-month
concert series in Santa Barbara, California, featuring the finest singer/songwriters in the folk and acoustic genre. Founded by Douglas Clegg and Kate Wallace, and with the generous help of Trinity Episcopal Church and a fine crew of volunteers, Backstage is now in its ninth season of absolutely stellar concerts in an intimate, timeless setting.
Kate Wallace is the co-founder,
with Douglas Clegg, of the Trinity Backstage Concert Series. An award-winning singer/songwriter who began her career in Los Angeles, Wallace spent 11 years as a writer, producer and recording artist in Nashville, and has made four CD's. She works with Clegg on a variety of projects, and she performs and writes regularly with him.
Annie Gallup has been a longtime friend from as far back as my early years at the Kerrville Folk Festival, and from as far east as the New England folk scene. She is extremely talented as a writer in the vein of the best of beat poetry, is one of the most creative artists to perform with a guitar, and has a voice that gently carves its way into your mind. She was born at the crossroads where Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits meet. Annie lives in Santa Barbara now, and plays with Peter Gallway as
Hat Check Girl.
Emma's Revolution is Pat Humphries and Sandy O performing with the most thoughtful, beautiful, and sensible social activism to take the stage since the 1960's. Pat and I met at the World Fellowship Center up in New England, a progressive think-tank retreat in the White Mountains of New Hampshire sometime last century. We were sharing the bill for a weekend of music, and her mastery of craft was a pleasure to witness. Sandy is also a great friend from many years ago, is a truly fine performer, and is in her element onstage with Pat. They tell it like it is, and tell how it ought to be. They have their music available on their website, as well as T-shirts that say PEACE in three languages (my favorite shirt).
